Shimin is a landscape designer with a background in architecture and urban design. She has practiced with multiple agencies in China, Singapore, and the UK. Her work focuses mainly on post-industrial restoration and sustainable development within dense urban environments.
She has witnessed the growth and shrinkage of many cities, and aspires to offer innovative responses to these rapid urban changes. Seeing the birth of new technologies, she believes the city of the future will contain infinite series of landscapes, extending far beyond traditional limits of urbanism and architecture, and she has equipped herself with multi-disciplinary design skills to bring these technologies into the resulting configuration of spaces. She is a strong model maker, both with her hands and digital tools.
Shimin holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Tongji University, China.
