florida atlantic university space assessment study
Florida Atlantic University is a public research university in southeast Florida with an enrollment of over 30,000 students. The university’s primary location is an 850-acre site in Boca Raton with satellite campuses in Dania Beach, Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Harbor Branch, and Jupiter. Given increasing resource constraints, the university must better understand current space use practices so as to better evaluate space need requests. To accomplish this, we collabrated with the university on a space utilization study that builds its organizational and analytic capacity, generates useful data to inform on-going decision making, makes specifc policy recommendations with respect to high-value space management opportunities, and explores potential scenarios for improved utilization.
