louisiana tech university framework plan

Louisiana Tech University is a public research university located in Ruston, LA. The university’s framework plan brings cohesion to the campus by creating a significant new organizing open space around which the intellectual and social vitality of the university can flourish. A detailed space analysis brought into focus the opportunity to maximize the use of existing resources through a bold renovation strategy. Engineering and science programs were the key academic driver, particularly with the opportunities in the university’s Enterprise Campus, for which we had done a previous round of planning. From a student life perspective, the plan explored opportunities to improve existing residence halls, remove under-performing buildings, and replace them with new diverse typologies. The university is home to an innovative public lab school, and understanding the school’s growth needs was essential. Finally, athletic programs are an important part of the school’s identity, and the university’s recent move to Conference USA, inspired significant thinking on future athletics needs.
