The Sacred Heart University master plan envisioned bold transformation and growth, transforming this former commuter school into a vibrant residential campus. Three initial projects created new buildings and powerful associated landscapes: the chapel and main quadrangle, the gallery student center, and the new school of business. The projects boldly promote campus identity, community, and academic excellence.

The new building for the business school is nearing completion at the main campus gateway. The arrival court provides an elegant reflecting pool and overlooking amphitheater that transitions to the landscape beyond. From this arrival court you enter the building’s great space that folds down to the lower campus entry and student arrival commons. The project is served by a large parking court, with its pattern of permeable and non-permeable pavements that capture and infiltrate all roof and site storm water. Four bold tree islands in the composition serve to give scale and shade to the large parking court.
