The Sacred Heart University master plan envisioned bold transformation and growth, transforming this former commuter school into a vibrant residential campus. Three initial projects created new buildings and powerful associated landscapes: the chapel and main quadrangle, the gallery student center, and the new school of business. The projects boldly promote campus identity, community, and academic excellence.

The gallery for student life was placed on an unused triangle of land, along a vital campus diagonal, connecting upper and lower campuses. It houses bookstore; student, faculty, and guest dining; and student success programs. Entry and upper terrace courts are connected via an elegant exterior stair and walk paralleling the gallery.
